Bed and breakfast Benson

Welcome to our 12th century manor countryside guest house. Our B&B is situated in the village of Benson which is just four miles and 10 minutes from Wallingford centre and thirteen miles from Henley-on-Thames.

Our bed and breakfast accommodation is a twelfth century manor house with early eighteenth century panelling and mid-nineteenth century façade. It has recently been restored and refurbished and now offers very comfortable hotel-equivalent accommodation in a building with features which span 7 centuries, many of which have been hidden for over 250 years. It is essentially a family home, set in an unspoilt countryside environment, which we offer as a guesthouse for business-persons or tourists alike.

In the main house we offer two large period bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms and full English breakfast. In the cloisters we offer one modern stylish double/twin, private bathroom including full English breakfast in the medieval dining room.

We pride ourselves on running an environmentally friendly bed and breakfast, using local produce, energy-saving products and we can provide comprehensive information on the frequent local transport services. WiFi Internet Access.

Our guesthouse is an ideal base for visiting National Trust properties: Waddesden Manor, Greys Court, Basildon Park (where Pride and Prejudice was filmed) Claydon House and Clivedon. Also perfectly situated for visiting the locations of the Midsomer Murders at Dorchester, Wallingford , Warborough and many other local spots.

Benson is close to Oxford with easy access to the M4, M40 and Heathrow Airport. There is easy access to London. It's an ideal resting place if you're walking the Thames Path or the Ridgway. Henley-on-Thames is just 15 minutes drive. Our guest house is well placed to explore Oxford and the many pretty villages nearby. The Stagecoach X39 and X40 services will take you into Oxford and Reading respectively.
